FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of materials can be Powder Coated?
We can coat any electrically conductive metal or material that can endure 400°F temperature. Our coatings can be used on a wide variety of materials.
How are parts prepared for Powder Coating?
Materials must be clean and free of any contaminants or oils. Pro Powder Powder Coating uses a 5 stage cleaning and wash system with phosphate surface preparation and a clean rinse.  Our process removes any oil deposits, dirt and grime and ensures a good mechanical bond. We ask that you remove any materials that cannot withstand 400°F temperature, such as rubber or bearings.
Why should I choose Powder Coating?
There are many benefits to using Powder Coating. Powder Coated products are more cost-effective and environmentally friendly than liquid paint. Pro Powder Powder Coating ensures a chemical- and chip-resistant finish, with outstanding customer service and a quick turn-around.
Can you strip paint?
Yes. We can strip paint with our burn off oven.  One method that also works is for you to take your parts to a shot blast company, which also prepares the surface for powder coating.
What colors and textures do you offer?
Pro Powder Powder Coat offers thousands of colors and numerous finishes to meet your project’s unique needs.
How large of a part can you coat?
Any part that will fit into a 12′ X 12′ x 8′ box.
What items are typically Powder Coated?
Powder Coating is used often in a variety of industries, including automotive, electronics, agriculture, furniture, fitness equipment and medical equipment. Any electrically conductive metal or material that requires a professional, appealing look and superior corrosive protection can be Powder Coated. Powder coating is a great choice for both residential or commercial purposes, for parts of nearly any size.
How do you determine cost?
Many factors contribute to cost: number of pieces (the more parts per batch, the smaller the cost per piece); stripping and masking required; color and texture; and thickness and weight of material.
Do you handle small jobs?
Yes. We can handle orders from 10 to 10,000 pieces.
Do you offer sandblasting services?
No, but there are several sandblasting companies in the area that do.
Will Powder Coating cover flaws in materials?
Small scratches and minor flaws can easily be masked by the Powder Coating process. We can help you choose more forgiving powders based on the condition of the surface.
